Description

The Caprice Classic was the top model of Chevrolet in the 70s, above the Impala. The Convertible was made in the years 1973 to 1975. A total of around 20,000 pieces of the Cabriolet were made, of which 8,349 pieces of the model year 1975. In the Netherlands, the car in particular has gained fame as Johnny Flodder's car, The film and TV series 'Flodder' of the same name. This Caprice Classic Convertible is equipped with a 350 Cubic Inches 5.7 liter V8-Small Block, which was a special option at the time. The same engine has also served in the Chevrolet Corvette for years. The car has been in possession of the current owner since 2009, a collector who fully restored the car between 2009 and 2016. During the restoration, nothing was left to chance and many parts have been replaced. For example, the rear screens have been completely replaced, the complete interior is again covered, the car has received a new Bordeaux red carpet and the Cabriolet Hood has been replaced for a new hood. Finally, in 2016 the bodywork was equipped with a new layer of lacquer in the original Classic White color. The old lacquer layer was first completely removed for this. The original engine and the 3-speed automatic gearbox were completely overhauled in 2016. The engine is equipped with a new Edelbrock 4-Barrel carburetor and a summit (racing) air filter, with which the power has risen from approximately 170 hp to around 245 hp. The (electric) fuel pump and part of the wiring under the hood have recently been replaced. This 5.70 meters (19 ft) long, 2.03 wide and 1.38 meters high convertible is a unique appearance and one of the few fully-fledged 6-person Cabriolets that will ever be there. To get a good picture of the lot, we advise you to come to the viewing day.
