Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner 1958

The Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner was a unique model in the Ford Fairlane series and was produced from 1957 to 1959. What made the Skyliner so unique was the fact that it had a folding hardtop that automatically stowed in the trunk with the push of a button. The design of the Skyliner was very advanced for its time and the roof mechanism was a marvel of engineering. However, it took up a lot of space in the trunk, so that the luggage space in the Skyliner was limited. The Fairlane 500 Skyliner was available with a variety of engines, including a 4.5-liter V8 and a 4.8-liter V8. In 1959 the Skyliner was discontinued and replaced by the Galaxy 500 Skyliner. The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us. You can inspect the cars on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop.
