Description

This Porsche 911 Targa is originally Dutch delivered by Pon and comes in the rare original paint color Signal Orange. The history is also special. The current owner had the boyhood dream of one day owning a Porsche. To achieve this he decided, unlike his friends, not to smoke. With mainly the money saved as a result, he bought this Porsche from an inheritance when he was in his twenties. The 911 was mainly stored dry and hardly ever driven due to lack of time. In the 1980s, some work was done to keep the car technically and optically up to date. For example, the engine was overhauled and the paintwork was touched up. After this, the 911 was stored again, which made the owner decide to sell the Porsche. Another fun anecdote: the police were recently under the impression that this was once a National Police Porsche 911, after which the owner was approached to buy the car back. After investigation by Pon, it turns out that this example has not been a police Porsche, but is the only one from the 1970 delivery still in possession of the original Dutch license plate.

At the moment, the Porsche 911 is in good, nearly original condition. The paint is in good condition and shines at you. The rear window appears to be whole but has become a bit dull with time. Also, some of the original rubbers and trim are in need of replacement. The interior looks complete but is a bit tired from sitting still. The upholstery on seats and doors is clean and whole, which is due to the relatively low mileage. When the owner bought the car, the aftermarket sports steering wheel and radio + speakers were already installed.

Under the front door, the back of the original mat has become brittle, causing black residue. The original spare tire is still present. The two original 6V batteries on either side have been replaced with a single modern 12V battery. As a result, the Porsche starts well and runs nicely after a short warm up. All in all, this is a special Dutch 911 Targa in a sought after original color, which is suitable to drive like this or further perfect. The Porsche attracts a lot of attention and generates nice reactions. To get a good picture of the lot we advise you to come to the viewing day.
