Beschrijving

The 1978 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC is a car deeply rooted in the rich history of Mercedes-Benz and its iconic SLC series. An extended version of the popular SL roadster, this coupe was designed to offer both luxury and performance, and is a stunning example of German automotive engineering from the late 1970s. Although this particular car does not currently drive and is a restoration item, it offers a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to revive a piece of automotive history. The SLC series, launched in 1971, was Mercedes-Benz's attempt to extend the success of the SL series into a coupe form. The 450 SLC, with its powerful 4.5-liter V8 engine, offered a combination of speed and comfort that was unmatched at the time. These cars were praised for their smooth handling, excellent build quality and luxurious interior. The SLC's longer wheelbase compared to the SL provided additional interior space, which made it not only sporty but also practical for longer trips. Although in 1978 the 450 SLC no longer had the novelty of its introductory years, it remained a symbol of prestige and refinement. This particular model, despite its current state as a restoration object, harbors the potential to return to its original glory. The bodywork is still hard, providing a solid foundation for restoration, although some parts are missing. This makes the project challenging, but well worthwhile for those who have the time and passion to breathe new life into this classic vehicle. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
