The Hannoversche Maschinenfabrik AG (Hanomag) was founded in 1846 as a builder of steam locomotives and went on to build commercial vehicles, cars, tractors, etc. Hanomag's first car was launched in 1925: this was the 2/10 hp two-seater "Kommissbrot" (literally "army bread"), so named because its shape resembles that of an army bread. The 2/10 hp was powered by a rear-mounted 499cc 10 hp single-cylinder water-cooled engine, which drove the rear axle with a chain (there was no differential). Keeping weight to a minimum was a design priority, and the first (open) version weighed only 370 kg. A closed version followed later. Top speed was around 60 km/h. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend you come to the viewing day.
