Don't let the vintage look fool you, this 1962 Land Rover has been completely rebuilt and is powered by a Ford 302 Mustang 5.0 high output V8 engine with 250 hp and 406 Nm of torque. All this power can be heard loud and clear through the custom made exhaust that looks most like a stovepipe. The car is equipped with an NP435 Ford Bronco 302 4-speed transmission with a Roamer Overdrive (SS Global Roamer) which provides a drop in speed of 800 rpm. The ignition has been replaced by a very reliable MSD electronic ignition intended for high performance cars. The car really always starts. Even after standing still for a long time. Due to a much more efficient and stronger spark this ignition also seems to give a power gain of 50hp.
Round disc brakes are fitted and a revised power steering is mounted from a Range Rover P38 which gives a safe feeling with this power. From the factory the Laro has rather spartan seats and these have been replaced with much more comfortable seats from the Exmoor brand from the UK with a Cubby Box in between. The upgrades go a long way as even the locks on the doors have been replaced with more modern locks.
The car has been completely disassembled and repainted in its original color over the past decades. Also a few years ago a complete overhaul of all wear parts i took place. These were performed by the then highly regarded company Top Hat. All invoices are present with a total of €16.000,-. The car has Dutch registration and it has been inspected by the RDW in Nieuwegein. To get a good picture of the lot we advise you to come to the viewing day.
