In the bustling Amsterdam of the 1970s and 1980s, Maup Caransa was known as one of Holland's leading real estate magnates. His business success and real estate portfolio were impressive, as was his Rolls-Royce Phantom VI, which attracted attention and confirmed his status as one of the country's wealthiest and most influential businessmen.
The Phantom VI was not just any car; it was a masterpiece on wheels. Maup Caransa had customized the car down to the smallest details to suit his own tastes and desires. The bodywork was glossy and elegant, with a deep, timeless color scheme that drew attention wherever it drove. The chrome details glistened in the sun and the distinctive Spirit of Ecstasy grille proudly adorned the front of the car.
A total of 374 examples of the Rolls-Royce Phantom VI were produced during its production period from 1968 to 1990. This number includes various body styles and modifications that were made to meet the specific needs of customers. Thus, the Rolls-Royce Phantom VI, like other Rolls-Royce models, is a relatively rare car due to its exclusivity and customized nature. At the time, this Phantom VI was delivered new to Maup Caransa through agents N.V. Grund & Co in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The car is extra unique because it was the first Phantom VI delivered in the Netherlands at the time and also because it is left-hand drive.
Upon delivery, the car was finished in Tudor Grey paint with red fine lines. The interior matched this, with the front compartment covered in gray leather and the rear in gray West of England cloth. As with many of these magnificent luxury vehicles, the passengers were well taken care of, in this case with full refrigeration in the front and rear compartments, a cocktail cabinet and to communicate with the driver there was an intercom system.
After Mr. Caransa's ownership, the car made the crossing to America, where it was registered in New York. After this, the car was registered in Kuwait. After this long world trip it is back in the Netherlands and is being offered for auction from our showroom in Breedenbroek.
Currently the engine starts, but does not run on all cylinders. The engine needs to be serviced before it can be driven.
Maup Caransa's Rolls-Royce Phantom VI was often seen on the streets of Amsterdam, a shining promise of what was possible with determination and vision. It was a reminder of the dreams he had pursued and realized in the world of real estate. It was a tribute to his legacy and his indelible mark on the city of Amsterdam.
