Specifications
Description

The 1960 Lancia Flaminia Convertible Touring Superleggera represents the pinnacle of Italian elegance and craftsmanship from the early 1960s. The Flaminia was Lancia's flagship and succeeded the successful Aurelia, with the brand raising the bar even higher in terms of luxury, technology and design. The renowned coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring, known for its Superleggera technology in which a lightweight tubular structure was clad in aluminum panels, was brought in for the convertible version. This made the Flaminia Convertible not only stylish, but also remarkably light and agile for a luxury grand tourer.

The Lancia Flaminia was powered by an advanced 2.5-liter V6 engine, a further development of Lancia's innovative engine designs. This engine provided enough power to comfortably travel long distances, with a characteristic smoothness and refinement for which Lancia was known. The Convertible Touring Superleggera combined this technical sophistication with a timeless design, perfectly balancing clean lines and elegant proportions. Handcrafted details, high-quality materials and subtle chrome accents highlight Touring's craftsmanship.

This particular 1960 example exudes the atmosphere of Italian grand touring while offering an authentic driving experience. The open roof enhances the feeling of freedom and allows the driver and passengers to fully enjoy the surrounding landscape. The model stands out not only for its design and technology, but also for its exclusivity. Only a limited number of Flaminia Convertibles were built by Touring, making it a rare sight today and a sought-after classic among collectors. Only 421 examples of the first series with a 2.5-liter V6 engine were made between 1959 and 1961.

The combination of Lancia's technical innovations, Touring's handmade Superleggera bodywork and timeless design ensure that this Flaminia Convertible leaves a lasting impression. It is a car that not only stands out for its beauty, but also tells a story about an era when design and craftsmanship were central. This example thus offers a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Italian automotive history.
