The MG B, introduced in 1962, was one of the most iconic sports cars of its time. In 1971, the model underwent some significant updates, including a larger engine with a displacement of 1,798 cc, which provided an excellent balance between performance and driving pleasure. This model was known for its recognizable design with sleek bodywork and an open convertible option, which contributed to its popularity among car enthusiasts. The MG B became a symbol of British motoring, with a combination of style and driving comfort that appealed to many drivers.
Technically, the MG B offered independent front suspension and a leaf-spring rear axle, which improved handling and provided a sporty driving experience. During its production period through 1980, more than 500,000 were manufactured, making the MG B one of the best-selling sports cars in its class.
