Description

The Austin-Healey Sprite, often referred to as the "Frogeye" because of its distinctive round headlights, was introduced in 1958 as an affordable sports car. Produced in 1961, this model was a pioneer in the small sports car segment and stood out for its playful design and agility. Designed by Donald Healey, the Sprite was intended to appeal to a wide audience. The combination of a lightweight body and a powerful four-cylinder engine helped the Sprite gain its reputation as a lively and enjoyable car to drive, which was also accessible to the average motorist.

Technically, the Austin-Healey Sprite featured a simple but effective construction, which contributed to its serviceability and reliability. The car was equipped with an independent front suspension system and a rear axle with leaf springs, which provided a good driving experience. The interior, although compact, offered enough space for two people, and the basic equipment was geared toward simplicity and functionality. The 1961 Austin-Healey Sprite Frogeye remained popular among car enthusiasts and collectors to this day. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend you come to the viewing day.
